My name is Traci. I’m a fourth year (out of 5) fashion design student at the University of Cincinnati. I want to be a lingerie designer “when I grow up.”

In my program (DAAP), you spend one quarter on an internship and the next in school (lather, rinse, repeat.) I’m about to start my fourth internship this spring in San Francisco, California!

My first internship was at Garan, Inc. (heard of Garanimals??) It’s located in the Empire State Building! I applied to work there, and the next day I was hired. A month or so later, I shipped off to NYC, a city I had never been to. I moved into my basically dorm room on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and spent a great three months in the city that never sleeps…

For my second and third internships, I went to La Senza in Columbus, Ohio. They’re owned by Limited Brands (the same company that owns Victoria’s Secret.) If you’re from the States you might not even recognize this company; they’re  an international brand. Since I want to ultimately design lingerie, this internship was a dream come true! The people were amazing, it’s a great company and of course I loved my work! I just finished up my second internship at La Senza in December.
